The market town of Harleston was full of festive cheer on Saturday afternoon as a fundraising pensioner turned on the town’s festive illuminations in front of a large crowd.

Marion Courtney, 90 and who had her head shaved in support of Syria refugees in September, switched on the lights at 4.30pm and revealed she had raised £2,800 and thanked people for the “wonderful way” they has supported her.

During the day there were festive stalls and live music from the Discord wellbeing singing group and the Ukulele Elves.
