The Diss Carnival is now in its eighth year and has become a popular attraction for the town.

And the carnival's committee are confident this year's event on Sunday, June, 14 will be a success.

A spokesman said: 'The support of the local residents, the clubs and societies and the visitors from around Norfolk and Suffolk play an important part in the success of the carnival.'

Carnival day starts at noon with street entertainment in the Market Place, a procession through the town from 1pm and then a fun day from 2pm at Diss Town Football Club in Brewers Green Lane.

This year the procession has a theme of pot luck and will include walking groups, dancers, vintage vehicles and floats and will journey through the streets of Diss.

The theme was chosen to encourage participants to have the freedom to create their own inventive entry and enjoy the family friendly event.

The fun day at the football club will also offer a variety of entertainment including Bazza Bizarre and Adam Strange, children's entertainers, a Spitfire fly past, Spider Web Mountain, Phoenix Rescue, combat paintball, ironheads and a bouncy castle.

There will also be arena displays, static displays, stalls and many refreshment outlets and a personal appearance of Dinsdale the duck mascot.

Park Radio will also be providing music and introducing the events.

Entrance charges are £3.50 for adults and £1 for children aged between 12 and 16. Under 12's go free
