A council leader has expressed his thanks to the community following the town's annual carnival.

In an open letter to the people of Diss and all those who attended the event which took place on Sunday, June 10. Julian Mason the leader of Diss Town Council wrote: 'I would like to say a massive thank you to the staff at Diss Town Council and the Carnival Committee who worked tirelessly together for months to put on the great carnival we enjoyed on the Park on Sunday.

'This was the second occasion the event has been held there and it was bigger and even better attended than last year.

'Also a big thanks to all the volunteers who stepped up on the day to help with traffic control, parking and the many other jobs that needed to be done.

'The hard work for next year will begin in the next few months and anyone who can contribute would be welcome to join in.'
