A bereavement support service is set to start to help people cope with the loss of a loved one.

The Long Stratton group is East of England Co-Op Funeral Services’ first in Norfolk.

The monthly meetings will take place the first Tuesday of each month from 10.30am to noon at the Long Stratton Village Hall, in Ipswich Road.

Bereavement support co-ordinator Rebecca Louis will facilitate the group, which launches on Tuesday, March 6.

She said: “Bereavement can cause various emotions, ranging from numbness to anger.

“There is no ‘normal’ way to react to loss but talking can help people to understand their feelings.

“All our groups offer a safe and trusted environment for those who are bereaved and provide them with a place to express themselves without judgment, while talking over a cup of tea with others who are also grieving.

“We are here to listen and ensure nobody feels alone.”
