More spacious modern premises are on the way for the Diss Citizens Advice Bureau following a £120,000 public appeal launched in November 2005.The voluntary organisation is replacing its existing worn out building at Shelfanger Road which has been in used for more than 20 years, and the project will take about eight to 10 weeks to complete.
More spacious modern premises are on the way for the Diss Citizens Advice Bureau following a £120,000 public appeal launched in November 2005.
The voluntary organisation is replacing its existing worn out building at Shelfanger Road which has been in used for more than 20 years, and the project will take about eight to 10 weeks to complete.
Money has been raised through a combination of fund-raising events and successful grant bids, and work on demolishing the old building and installing a new one is about to start.
The bureau will be closed on Friday February 1, Monday 4 and February 5, and arrangements have been made to continue the service from temporary premises.
The telephone advice service will operate as normal Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm. The face to face service will be available from The Denny Centre, in Diss on Mondays and Thursdays between 10am and 2pm from February 11.
Normal outreach sessions at Harleston, Eye and Loddon will continue as usual, with an additional hour at Harleston on Wednesdays.
It is anticipated the brand new building in Shelfanger Road will be ready for occupation towards the end of April.
