Harleston was honoured at a civic reception by district council chairman Joe Mooney for its recent success in the annual Pride of Norfolk Awards.

Mr Mooney presented a certificate at the reception, at Wymondham Abbey, to acknowledge Harleston's competition win last year. Town councillor Sue Kuzmic said: “It was a great surprise to us to be presented with the certificate. It is recognition of the competition committee's hard work last year in achieving the winning entry for the whole of Norfolk, in the EDP Pride of Norfolk Awards.

“We are busy working on our presentation for the judges coming on the April 15. Thos has been a good joint project between the town council and the Harleston Information Plus group. Hopefully there will be many more opportunities for us to work together in the future.

“Cllr Joe Mooney asked to be kept informed of our progress in the next stages of the competition. The reception was to thank people in the community of South Norfolk for all their hard work on environmental projects throughout the year, which has been the focus for his chairman's project.”
