A new pub and restaurant is soon to open in heart of a historic South Norfolk market town.

Paul Leeves and his business partner Katheryn Duffee have spent the last few months working hard to transform an empty building into what will soon be Diss's newest restaurant, Number 11.

Located in the heart of the Heritage Triangle, next to the Corn Hall in St Nicholas Street, the new establishment will offer a well stocked bar and wine menu alongside a carefully considered range of freshly cooked dishes and sharing platters made using locally sourced ingredients.

The pair, who have experience working in the restaurant trade and who both used to work at The Swan Inn, in Hoxne, are hoping their new venture will fill a gap in the town's current restaurant scene for dog and family friendly restaurant, which attracts customers from both within Diss and the town's surrounding villages.

Mr Leeves, who will manage the kitchen whilst Ms Duffee will look after the bar and front of house explained the pair's plan for the new restaurant and their intention to serves classic, British and Mediterranean food with a healthy twist.

The 45-year-old said: 'We'll have healthy options and family friendly options, we want to get away from the fryer as much as possible.'

Although not yet open and still with a lot to do Mr Leeves said how they had already been made to feel extremely welcome in the town: 'The support we have had, just from people knocking on the door has been great, we've been made to feel really welcome.

'It's different and it's really nice to have that business community. We want to bring people to this end of town, and support this end of the town.

'With all the new houses that are going up I think there is plenty of business to be shared around.'

The new restaurant is expected to create 10 to 15 new jobs, including kitchen and front of house positions. It is expected to be open within a matter of weeks.
