A grandmother is stepping out of her comfort zone this weekend to take part in a fashion show hoping to raise awareness of ovarian cancer.

Lesley Torun, from Tacolneston, is taking part in the Touch of Teal event to celebrate one year on from being diagnosed with the disease.

The 65-year-old will join several other survivors on the catwalk at the Mayfair Hotel in London on Saturday to strut her stuff in front of 200 onlookers.

She said: ''I was completely oblivious to ovarian cancer and I like to think that I'm au fait with medical things. This time last year I was in blissful ignorance of the signs and symptoms.

'Somehow knowing about ovarian cancer missed me and I want to help to make sure that this isn't the case for other women.'

Lesley was given the all-clear just before Christmas but the treatment left her with meotional and physical scars making her determined to raise awareness of the disease.
