Palgrave Primary School, part of the Tilian Partnership multi-academy trust, was judged 'outstanding' for behaviour and attitudes and personal development and 'good' for its quality of education, leadership and early years provision, following an Ofsted inspection on October 8-9.

The school, at its capacity of 80 pupils, is housed in a traditional, old school building with no land to expand on its current site meaning it has to refuse places to local children from the growing village near Diss.

Lead inspector Tessa Holledge said: "Leaders do not let the very small school site limit this in any way. All pupils use the large forest school area in the village. PE and outdoor education are strengths in the curriculum, turning the limitations of the site into a success story."
