A community radio station has been hard at work adding a splash of colour to its town’s railway station.
Park Radio, Diss’s community radio station has adopted the town’s railway station, taking on the responsibility of creating green spaces on and around the station’s platforms.
On Twitter Park Radio tweeted: “We and our partners Greater Anglia have joined forces and are now responsible for bringing some colour and cheer to the station’s platforms. Our team have been planting the numerous tubs with begonias, fuschias and pelargoniums and they look great.”
Greater Anglia’s area customer service manager, James Reeve, said: “Park Radio has already made an impact with their lovely floral displays and I look forward to working with them and hearing their ideas.”
Launched in 2003, the ‘Adopt a Station’ scheme enables groups and organisations to play a part in the upkeep and presentation of their local railway stations.
