A Suffolk castle has been opened for festivities to celebrate its year-long restoration project.
Eye Castle saw medieval knights, maids and artisans convene for a day to mark the work.
Children took part in games, crafts and competitions at the event organised by Mid Suffolk District Council.
Pupils from nearby schools have been visiting the motte-and-bailey castle to help out with the restoration.
Occold Primary School headteacher Kevin Knights said: 'Amazingly the children here have never visited Eye Castle and so this project has provided them with a great opportunity to see a piece of history on their doorstep.
'The children have learnt about different aspects of Norman life and can relate it directly to their local area.'
The Friends of Eye Castle group is helping to conserve the site.
