Police officer injured in patrol car crash

The East Anglian Air Ambulance attended the scene of a single vehicle crash involving a police car on the outskirts of Attleborough this morning .
Firefighters from Wymondham and Attleborough were called to release an officer who was trapped in his patrol car following the collision outside St Luke's Hospital on the B1077 Ellingham Road.
The officer suffered minor injuries after the car left the road at about 9.20am and was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital where he was later discharged.
The two fire crews left the scene at about 10.20am.
A spokesman for Norfolk Police said the patrol car was on a 999 call at the time and the circumstances of the crash would be investigated by a senior officer.
