Norfolk police have issued a warning to residents in the Diss area following suspicious behaviour in the town involving rogue traders.

At about midday on Thursday, two men called on an elderly resident in the Lord Road area of Diss and demanded that he pay them a considerable amount of money for gardening work they claimed to have completed.
They accompanied him to his local bank so he could withdraw the money and it was only due to the quick thinking of bank staff that they failed in their attempts.
Det Sgt Pete Jessop, of the force's Operation Radar team, said: 'Once again due to the quick thinking of a bank employee a vulnerable resident has not had a substantial amount of money taken from him in this cruel and callous manner.'
One of the men involved was described as white, about 5ft 10ins tall and of slim build with a tanned face. At the time of the incident he was wearing a multi coloured beanie hat, dark jacket and dark trousers.
