Police have issued a warning to householders in a South Norfolk town to be on alert for a man in a white van calling door to door.
People are being urged to be on the look out for a white van displaying the word ‘Prestige’ sign written on its side that has been seen in Diss.
In a tweet South Norfolk policing inspector Jason Selvarajah said the driver or occupant of the van, a white male of large build wearing fluorescent top, had been calling at homes making enquiries about vehicles, which is believed suspicious.
The alert comes two weeks after police launched an investigation about a gang of rogue handymen were preying on elderly and vulnerable homeowners in the town.
One 81-year-old woman, who lives alone, was left distressed when the gang demand £200 for a job they had offered to do for £45.
