Journalist and broadcaster Dame Jenni Murray, who is best known for presenting Woman's Hour on BBC Radio 4, is to appear at Diss Corn Hall.

The broadcasting legend, who has presented the Radio 4 show since 1987, will visit the south Norfolk town in June to speak on the theme of one of her books, A History of Britain in 21 Women.

Telling the story of the nation through the lives of 21 remarkable women including the likes of Boudicca, Queen Elizabeth I, the author Jane Austen, the suffragette Emmeline Pankhust, fashion designer Mary Quant and Labour Party politician Barbara Castle, she will talk about each woman's achievements, how their actions shaped Britain and why they are featured on the list.

She will appear at The Corn Hall on Saturday, June 16.
