Rock legend Rick Wakeman will be doing the honours when the Ivy House at Stradbroke re-opens after refurbishment at 7pm on Thursday.
Landlords Suzanne and Egil Stenseth have had the interior remodelled to create more space for their customers who include Mr Wakeman and actress Amanda Donahoe.
'The previous owner had applied to turn it into a house and we literally saved it when we took over three years ago. Since then we have been doing alterations to the inside. We have taken two bars in the middle out and replaced with a new bar. It will make it much more spacious and more comfortable,' Mrs Stenseth explained.
She said that the original part of the building is 500 years old and the Victorian side was 'stuck in a time warp'.
'We have tried to restore some of the period features,' she added.
It was necessary to close the pub for 10 days during the refurbishment.
