Woman detained under Mental Health Act after incident which closed roads in Diss

A woman has been detained under the Mental Health Act after emergency services were called to an incident in Diss.

Police were called to Denmark Street in Diss just before 4pm following concern for the safety of a woman.

Traffic was diverted away from the area while the incident was dealt with.

Police negotiators and the fire service were involved and it ended safely at 5.45pm, with the detention of the woman.

Police thanked drivers for their patience during the time the road was closed.
