Drivers could be facing tailbacks when roadworks began at one of the busiest junctions in a Norfolk town.
Temporary five-way traffic lights are set to be in operation at the mini-roundabout at the junction of Park Road and Denmark Street in Diss while work on cabling is set to be carried out by BT on Monday, December 9 and Tuesday, December 10.
The traffic lights will cover from the roundabout to opposite John Grose on Park Road and govern access to the junction from Park Road and Stanley Road, both parts of the busy A1066 through road, and the north and south parts of Denmark Street. Motorists from south entrance to Croft Lane will also see restrictions.
Resurfacing and footpath repair work by Norfolk County Council at the same junction in April led to lengthy rush-hour tailbacks with traffic stretching down Victoria Road and affecting the roundabout access to Morrisons and Tesco and junction with Mere Street.
