A South Norfolk school maintained its rating of good in an Ofsted inspection.
Roydon Primary School, near Diss, which is currently undergoing a £5.75m expansion that will double its size, was praised for providing a nurturing environment where pupils enjoy a rich diversity of topics and activities.
The report found parents spoke highly of extra-curricular activities, especially music and sport.
Ofsted inspector Susannah Connell said the school had begun to address why not enough pupils achieve higher standards in maths including extra training for teachers.
She said: 'Teachers are more confident in teaching abstract methods then moving to formal methods. Because of this, pupils now have a more secure mathematical understanding, as shown in their books.'
Her report found school leaders have an 'over-generous view' of the effectiveness of their relationship with parents, with some saying the school does not respond to their concerns.
But she said the school had begun to address this, adding: 'Since the previous inspection, leaders have kept parents informed in a variety of ways, including through newsletters, curriculum information, the school website and social media.'
