A housing trust has celebrated the opening of 15 new affordable homes, which have been built by South Norfolk contractors.

Saffron Housing Trust, a social housing provider with more than 6,000 homes across East Anglia has celebrated with the residents who have moved into 15 new affordable homes in Dickleburgh, near Diss.

Designed with the villages's housing needs in mind, all of the houses in the new development where built by local contractors and have gone residents from the nearby area.

Andy Radford, chair of Saffron Housing said: 'We are delighted to celebrate the completion of these much needed local homes. It is a key priority for us to ensure that local people can afford to stay in the communities where they are from.'

South Norfolk councillor, Yvonne Bendle, who attended the opening of the new homes added: 'Every affordable home built is an opportunity for someone to have their own home and a chance for independence'
