Extra measures have been introduced at a nature park in South Norfolk aimed at preventing a repeat of the site being used by travellers.
A group of caravans appeared at Scole Pocket Park, a nature trail area near to the roundabout junction between the A140 and A143, over the weekend of September 28-29.
The travellers set up camp in a car park area that is accessed off the A143 after evading measures designed to keep out high sided vehicles.
Scole Parish Council had been working with Suffolk County Council gypsy and traveller services to liaise with the group, and the travellers left the site ahead of an October 7 deadline.
Scole Nature Trails Trust, which maintains the site, said: "The travellers were due to move on by 10am on Monday, but have moved out early and are no longer in the pocket park. The entrance gate has been better secured to prevent a recurrence of the situation."
