A village fete has raised more than £2,500 to help with the continued maintenance and upkeep of its village hall.
On Saturday, July 15 over 600 people attended the Shelfhanger Village Fete, which was opened by councillor Beverley Spratt.
Featuring displays and attraction from the fire and police services, more unexpected guests such as alpacas from Woodbine Farm in Diss and traditional village fete stalls, the day was deeemed a great success.
One of the organisers, James Easter, said: 'With the help of local residents setting up and local business helping with the event, we raised over £2,500 from village hall projects.'
The money raised from the event will go towards the upkeep and maintenance of the village hall, which is used by a number of groups and organisations including Diss and District Model Railway Society, yoga, kettlecise and pilates groups, Shelfhanger Art Group and Winfarthing Football Club.
