Households are being warned they may need to change the day they put out their brown bin for collection.
The success of the garden waste service in South Norfolk means that from November 5 the days of collections could be changing to allow the district council to redesign the routes to enable new customers to join the scheme.
Cabinet member Kay Mason Billig said: 'Every week we collect around 200 tonnes of grass and hedge cutting and leaves to help keep South Norfolk looking neat and tidy. Now our rounds have become so busy, with more than 25,000 customers, that our lorries are getting close to their allowed weight limits.
'By reorganising the routes we can continue to offer the garden waste service to our existing customers and have space to allow more residents to take advantage of this great scheme.'
South Norfolk Council is writing to customers letting them know if the brown bin collection day will change. There will be no changes to the day that refuse and recycling, black and green bins are emptied.
