Survey results have revealed which Norfolk district has the fittest residents.

Sport England published results from their latest Active Lives Survey, showing South Norfolk to be the most active district.

The survey shows that more than 66pc of adult residents have met the Chief Medical Officer's guidelines of doing at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity a week.

South Norfolk Council cabinet member, Yvonne Bendle said. 'This is fantastic news and a great achievement for our district. The health and well-being of our residents is a priority for SNC and it is great to see that the work we are doing is having such an impact on our young people.

'SNC invested £4.5m in our leisure centre in Wymondham and we are now investing a further £2m in our leisure centre in Long Stratton. These figures show what a good job we are doing and really give us something to build on moving forward.'
