Some of the county's most iconic landmarks feature in a special Norfolk Day video from teenage singer Breeze Redwine for a song about the importance of home.
The talented young singer-songwriter, from Starston, has been uploading videos of live performances and songs on YouTube since she was 11.
Now 15 and having released her own songs on iTunes and Amazon, she co-wrote the song Walking Home with her vocal and guitar coach Lisa Redford, a successful singer-songwriter in her own right.
The track and its video produced specially for Norfolk Day are real local efforts. Everyone involved, from the musicians to the video director-producer David McKenna, hail from Norfolk, and the project was sponsored by Rushall-based Vincent’s Garage.
The video was filmed around Norfolk and features locations including Thurne, Happisburgh Light House, Cromer Pier and the Waveney Valley.
“I’ve lived in Norfolk my whole life, growing up here, in the countryside, so that makes it special to me. The video features iconic places that really represent Norfolk,” she said.
“We had such fun making it. It’s not just about me as so many people from Norfolk where involved in the production of this and are proud to be from this county.”
Breeze’s mother Jackie Redwine said: “We were really keen to do something for Norfolk Day. We met David McKenna in the pub one night and he said he’d help. He is completely amateur but he is very talented and it has turned out fantastic. He has made the track come alive and really featured Norfolk.
“Vincent’s Garage sponsored it because we don’t have the money to do this sort of thing. So it has been amazing how all the local people have got together to help.
“Everybody involved is from Norfolk. The song was recorded at the Mill Studios in Winfarthing, the pianist Glen Butcher, guitarist Kolin Durier, and drummer and bassist Jonny Cole are from Norwich, and she wrote the song with Lisa Redford.”
The teenage singer was this week recording new material with a single, We Can Be Legends, to be released on August 10 followed by an EP of the same title on August 24.
