Organised by Annie Chapman, the event started in 2004 with just 50 tractors, but 14 years later the annual tractor run now attracts ladies and their tractors from all over the country and has raised more than half a million for charity.

Speaking on Chris Evans’ BBC Radio 2 breakfast show Mrs Chapman, said: “Every year [the tractors] get more imaginative, some of the decorations are so big you can hardly see the ladies.”

The 20-mile route took the convoy of 125 tractors, travelling at an average speed of 8 mph, through Harleston - where the ladies were met with hundreds of supporters cheering them on their way - before heading to Gawdy Hall for a picnic lunch.

After eating they returned to Thorpe Abbotts Airfield via Pulham and Rushall.
