Motorists face disruption with a road linking South Norfolk villages to the A140 set to be closed for £25,000 resurfacing work.

Rectory Road will be closed to traffic in both directions in the 30mph section at Tivetshall St Mary between 8am and 5pm on February 6.

The road, which has a junction with the A140 near the Old Ram pub, is also used by traffic from neighbouring villages Tivetshall St Margaret, Hall Green and Gissing.

A fully signed local diversion will see traffic sent on an alternative route along The Street, Green Lane and Station Road.

Access to local homeowners and businesses, including the award-winning Buffy’s Brewery in Tivetshall St Mary, will be maintained.

Funding for the resurfacing work is from the extra £12.694m Norfolk County Council received from the government to spend on road maintenance in 2018/19.
