Two men have been arrested in connection with a string of distraction burglaries targeting elderly people including one in Palgrave.
A man aged in his 80s was unhurt but was left shaken by the incident that occurred shortly after 5.40pm at a property in Goulds Close in Palgrave on January 17.
An offender had approached the property and looked through a window and they tried to speak to the victim. The suspect then went around the back and pushed the victim, taking an amount of cash from him.
It was one of a string of similar incidents in Suffolk including one in Lavenham where a man claimed to be a police officer, and two separate incidents in Wickham Skeith where a man entered the home of a woman in her 80s demanded money while on another occasion a man claimed to be a police officer.
The two men arrested, one aged 22 the other 35, were held on suspicion of burglary and robbery and have subsequently been released on police bail. The pair must report back to police on February 24.
