Residents of a South Norfolk village are being encouraged to attend an information event, which will include a demonstration on how to use the village’s newly installed defibrillator.
On Saturday, May 5, a member of the Community Heartbeat Trust will visit Winfarthing near Diss to provide a defibrillator awareness and training session.
Following a fund raising drive and grant from the Big Lottery Fund, a defibrillator was installed on the wall of the Fighting Cocks pub in the centre of Winfarthing in December 2017.
Although easy to use, defibrillator training is advisable to help increase confidence and raise awareness of what to do in an emergency situation.
Jenny Mitchell, parish council clerk said: “The more people who know how to use it the more chance there is of saving a life.”
The demonstration event will take place in the Fighting Cocks pub from 10.30am, and is open to everyone from the village and surrounding area.
