Motorists face finding alternative places to park with work having closed a car park in a town that has seen a campaign for more long-stay parking spaces.
The Shelfanger Road long-stay car park in Diss, which is run by South Norfolk Council, has been closed until May 1 for maintenance.
A spokesman said the resurfacing and relining work was part of on-going measures to maintain the council's car park and make them pot-hole free.
Earlier this year a petition calling for more long-stay spaces launched by shopkeepers gained hundreds of signatures and the backing of more than a dozen shops and businesses.
The current parking arrangements were established in 2017 by South Norfolk Council following a review.
