The Shelfanger Road long-stay car park in Diss, which is run by South Norfolk Council, has been closed until May 1 for maintenance.

A spokesman said the resurfacing and relining work was part of on-going measures to maintain the council's car park and make them pot-hole free.

Earlier this year a petition calling for more long-stay spaces launched by shopkeepers gained hundreds of signatures and the backing of more than a dozen shops and businesses.

The current parking arrangements were established in 2017 by South Norfolk Council following a review.

With the Shelfanger Road car park out of action the alternative long-stay parking includes 69 spaces in Park Road, 11 spaces in Church Street and 86 spaces in the Heritage Triangle car park at the southern end of Shelfanger Road.
