The children of Ashleigh Infant School and Nursery, Wymondham, took part in a Cookathon on Tuesday as part of the National Let's Get Cooking initiative.

The idea behind the Cookathon was to get as many children as possible across the country, making healthy food on the same day.

Ashleigh children made 220 fruit crumbles and every child in school took one home.

Many parents contributed ingredients and many helped on the day. The children will be entering a competition to guess how many food miles went into each crumble even though they used British apples they were amazed at the answer! and the closest guess will win a healthy cookery book.

'This has been a really inspiring day for the staff and the children”said the head, Mrs Annie Catlin.
