Diss Corn Hall is hoping for a financial boost towards its community programme thanks to a national campaign that doubles charitable donations.

The arts venue and community space, a registered charity, has been working with a greater diversity of audiences and has expanded its programme with visitor numbers to the restored venue rising by 30pc last year.

In 2020 they want to increase low cost and free outreach programmes working with groups including young people, families, the elderly and disadvantaged.

They have already received pledges for £5,000 and are hoping online donors will help raise another £5,000 with every donation made via the BigGive Christmas Challenge until noon on December 10 being match-funded, doubling the amount given.

Corn Hall trustee Ray Bryant said: "We hope to raise the £10,000 we need to maintain our work with those in the community who are financially less fortunate. Diss is fortunate to have so many volunteers who put their time, energy and enthusiasm into running this venue and we would encourage everyone who is able to support this campaign."
