Diss face a home game against Campion in another must win game this weekend as they bid to land promotion.

In the last encounter, earlier on in the season, Diss ran in 96 points against a depleted Campion side.

However, Diss need to be ruthless in their quest for promotion and must take this game as any other this season and deliver a clinical performance ensuring the five points are secured.

Stu Hudson, part of the Diss coaching team commented: 'Winning is all about attitude and Diss need to demonstrate the ability to play the patterns, do the job and move on to the next game. With a week's rest the squad should be at full strength and competition for places will be fierce.

'Training will be sharp to deliver a result working on what we do well, nothing fancy just doing the basics. The Diss team has the talent, with a great team attitude and spirit and the ability to up the tempo in games to break teams with fast passing and running into the space, even against teams with excellent defence line speed.

'The squad has depth and with the likes of Jacob Page, Micky Fuller, Will Scott, Tim Groom, Will Waddingham, Jake Girdler and Angus McDaniel all fighting for places during the season, it has allowed Diss to go through phases of injuries and non-availability with the team strong each week.

'As always we look forward to the battle against Campion, but with no illusions of what the team needs to deliver for our superb home supporters who have high expectations, but will be cheering the team on as always to greater things.'

With a good turnout on Sunday morning, Diss Colts turned out to play a friendly with Holt. It was a fitting squad to play the last fixture for 2017, as the Colts ended an era, with players destined to play in the senior teams.

Diss started off sluggishly and it was try for try in the first half with the forwards having a good work out in the damp conditions.

The second half did not disappoint as Diss started to dominate and came away winners 43-20. Tries were by Luke Miller, John Joe Smith, Ed Bullock, Tom Watson, Angus McDaniel and Charlie Hay. Ed Bullock converted four.

Colts coach commented: 'A good day of rugby was had and we all look forward to seeing the squad progressing at Diss.'
