The visitors to their credit came forward and almost drew level but a smart save from Richard Ferry kept the score at 1-0. It didn’t take long for the home side to double their lead when a header from Harry Reeves released Ryan Perry and he out jumped the keeper and tapped the ball into the empty net to make the score 2-0.

The game was all but over in the 23rd minute when a sharp turn in the box from Jon Abbott resulted in a penalty being awarded and he stepped up himself and slotted it into the bottom corner to make it 3-0. The first half scoring was complete on 33 minutes when a good ball from Andrew Piper sent Russell Hockley through on goal and he composed himself before coolly slotting the ball into the bottom corner for his first goal for the club and to make the score 4-0 at the break.
