Former Harleston Magpies star Richard Alexander has been selected for the GB hockey squad for the Beijing Olympics. The 26-year-old from Homersfield was a member of the GB squad which got through a tough qualifying campaign in Chile and coach Jason Lee has stuck with the same players for China.

The 26-year-old from Homersfield was a member of the GB squad which got through a tough qualifying campaign in Chile and

coach Jason Lee has stuck with the same players for China.

Alexander, a midfielder who now plays for Surbiton, made his GB debut in 2005 and has 27 caps.

Britain will face defending champions Australia, Holland, South Africa and Canada in Beijing with a first game against Pakistan on Monday, August 11.
