Alexander picked for Olympics

Former Harleston Magpies star Richard Alexander has been selected for the GB hockey squad for the Beijing Olympics. The 26-year-old from Homersfield was a member of the GB squad which got through a tough qualifying campaign in Chile and coach Jason Lee has stuck with the same players for China.

Former Harleston Magpies star Richard Alexander has been selected for the GB hockey squad for the Beijing Olympics.

The 26-year-old from Homersfield was a member of the GB squad which got through a tough qualifying campaign in Chile and

coach Jason Lee has stuck with the same players for China.

Alexander, a midfielder who now plays for Surbiton, made his GB debut in 2005 and has 27 caps.
