With the snow now gone Diss Angling Club found the going very hard when they held their match on Sunday.The added cold water from the melting snow had dropped the temperature of the Mere down to a level where the fish did not want to feed unless you happen to find a warm layer in the water.

George Wilby come away in first place with his waggler approach from peg 9. Wilby found the roach when his bait slowly dropped through the water and by the end of the match Wilby had 8lb 9.

Peter Wall was second on the day when he fished out at 17 metres on the pole to catch 3lb 1.5 of roach. Third went to Mark Ling who had 2lb 5.5.

The match was the club's pair match and this years winning pair was George Wilby and Billy Crisp with a combined weight of 8lb 12.5.

The Fred Rose ledger match which got cancelled is now to be fished on Saturday January 30 at Mann Farm. The draw is at 9am, fishing 10am-3pm.
