WITH the weather on the up last week, it was a shame the match weights didn't follow for Diss Angling Club.

On Tuesday, September 23 fishing match was held at Eye Ponds new side and Robert Peak made the best of the day's action when had took mainly rudd with the odd perch making its way into Peak's net.

On Tuesday, September 23 fishing match was held at Eye Ponds new side and Robert Peak made the best of the day's action when he took mainly rudd with the odd perch making its way into his net. When the scales finally settled 7lb 15oz was read off and that gave Peak the win.

Second on the day went to Barry Day with 5lb 2.5oz and Colin Lea was third with 4lb 6.5oz.

On Saturday, September 27 saw the match being held at Monk Hall on the River Waveney. Andrew Mears grafted very hard to get the win by taking 23 roach and two dace for just 1lb 1.5oz. Colin Lea finished with 15.5oz. Third was Barry Day.

The old side at Eye entertained the September 28 match. George Wilby won through on the day with his net of roach and perch to 11lb 2oz. Joe Cole was second with 9lb 7oz which included a lovely perch which went 1lb 1oz. Third place went to Andrew Mears with 8lb 14oz.
