A frozen Eye ponds greeted some of the members from Diss Angling Club on Saturday – prompting a quick change of venue to Diss Mere where there was some clear water to fish.
Bites were very hard to come by and the resulting weights showed the two people who caught worked very hard to get them. Peter Wall used all his skill on the pole and took top spot with just 4oz. Stephen Edwards was second with a couple of fish for 3oz.
The following day brought better conditions for the few who arrived at Eye ponds.
Ashley Emms loves putting the senior members of Diss under pressure, and once again he came up trumps. Small rudd and roach made up Ashley's bag of 4lb 2oz. Second was Billy Crisp, who fell one fish short of Emms, when he too netted roach and rudd for his 3lb 15oz. Third went to George Wilby with 3lb 2oz.
