Barry Day drew well down on the new side at Eye but the decent rudd and roach didn't show. Barry was kept very busy with a large shoal of small fish in front of him and he finally weighed in 10lb 2oz.

Second went to Billy Crisp weighed in 7lb 10oz of again small fish and Roy Johnson brought to the scales 5lb 1oz for third place.

The old side at Eye held the opener for the Saturday matches. After a lot of rain the fishing was going to be tricky with a lot of cold water falling to the bottom of the ponds forcing the fish up in the water.

Glen Orford made the best of the day's action. Fishing shallow for much of the match Glen had lots of rudd with a few skimmers coming to the net when Orford had a look on the bottom.

Glen finished the match with 11lb 7½oz. Second went to Bill Davies, who brought 8lb 11½oz to the scales. Third went to George Wilby who finished on 7lb 6oz.

Sunday saw small fish making up the bulk of the bags caught. Chris Thorndyke managed to keep the fish coming to the net. Thorndyke's fish never really got over 2 to 3oz. Chris' final weight was 7lb 8.

Second was Barry Day who managed 4lb 14oz of very small fish. Third went to Stewart Mclean who managed 4lb and half an ounce.

There are still some pegs left for this Sunday's outing match at Hinderclay on Willow Pool. If you are interested in fishing this match contact Andrew Mears on 0778 6041177.
