Withersdale Bees this week turned in a solid performance to beat Roydon 8-2 in the Leisure Sport Premier Division of the Diss and District Table Tennis League.

Steve Griffee did the damage as he remained undefeated on the night, winning all his singles in four legs.
He was well supported by Adrian Key and Barney Garrod, although both were beaten by Alan Connelly. Connelly beat Key in three legs but had to work harder against Garrod before eventually winning 11-3, 7-11, 5-11, 11-9, 11-5.
Elsewhere Aslacton beat Shotguns C 6-4. No player was unbeaten on the night as David Barnard, John Bryant and Joe Aldrich all recorded two wins apiece.

Shotguns' Robert Crawford and Pat West did the same. Trevor Cottee can count himself very unlucky not to win a point for the Shotguns as he lost in five legs in each of his three singles games, which included a 14-12 loss to Aldrich.
In the Speedy Bat Sports Division One, Aslacton beat Botesdale 6-4. Neither player could overcome Botesdale's Nigel Bowen, although Nigel Barker came close before losing 11-9, 5-11, 4-11, 11-3, 9-11.

In the other match played, Billy Howe and Bill Pursehouse both turned in maximums for Shotguns E as they beat Shotguns F 7-3. All G team players beat Jim Pontin, although he took Robin Shaw the distance before eventually losing 6-11, 5-11, 11-4, 11-8, 8-11.
Sunday sees the league championships take place at Hartismere High School, Eye, where play begins at 9am with the handicap singles.
