Bowls: Wymondham going strong in Breckland League

Wymondham Short Mat Bowls club continue to lead the way in the Breckland league after two strong away wins.

The first was at Forncett where they took all 10 points on offer (10-0; 81-43) where R Steele, M Barker and B Saunders led the way with a resounding 28-8 win.

The second match of the year came at Watton, where the team won 8-2 (74-53) as M George, P King and C Mann put in the best performance of the night with a 23-8 win. This now puts a nine-point gap between them and second-placed Connaught A, with the clubs meeting at the end of the month.

The club has also progressed to the semi-finals of the county cup beating fellow Breckland club Connaught B 8-0 (74-23), as they look to make it back-to-back finals.
