John Bryant was unbeaten as his Aslacton team drew 5-5 with Palgrave in the Leisure Sport Premier Division of the Diss and District Table Tennis League.

Only Will Cole took Bryant the distance before losing 11-2 in the fifth leg.

Cole and Tony Park score a brace each before the two teamed up to take a very close doubles win over Bryant/David Barnard 11-3 11-13 11-8 10-12 12-10.

Roydon beat a two-man Shotguns B 6-4 although no Roydon player could beat David Mortlock, however, the B team were back to full strength as they overcame a two-man Withersdale team 8-2.

This time Mortlock was beaten by Adrian Key and Steve Griffee although the latter game was decided at 13-11 in the fifth leg.

Shotguns A beat Shotguns C 6-4 although the whole C team was made up of D players from the same division - surely this should be a topic of conversation at the next annual meeting?

In the Speedy Bat Sports Division One Newton Flotman, with a match in hand over their two closest rivals, extended their lead at the top of the division after a close 6-4 win over a two-man Botesdale team - only if they had had a third player, they may have inflicted the Eagles first defeat of the season. Mark Beswick was unbeaten for the Eagles.

Palgrave Stars are up to second in the table after beating Shotguns E 6-4 and Shotguns G 9-1. David Leeder took a maximum for the Stars against the E team whilst Terry Rayner did the same against the G team.

Aslacton also beat Shotguns G 9-1 where Nigel Barker and Lionel Coe were undefeated. John Hillman won two games but was beaten by Paul Sturman 11-7 8-11 10-12 7-11.

Aslacton then lost 7-3 to Thrandeston where Kevin Smith was the in form player on the night. Elsewhere Shotguns F lost 4-6 to Palgrave Tornadoes where they found D Sore in good form.
