Cheered on by a vociferous home crowd Magpies managed to win five games and draw one enabling the girls to be crowned east champions and progress to the national finals in Nottingham played on Sunday, May 17.

Magpies' first game against Kent College proved to be their toughest and a very even encounter finished goalless.

Excellent wins followed against Newport Free Grammar School (Cambs) 3-1, Spalding (Lincs) 7-0, Felstead Prep School (Essex) 2-0, Old Buckenham Hall School (Suffolk) 3-0 and Bishop Stortford College (Herts) 2-0.

Magpies had by far been the most consistent team in the tournament and credit must go to the entire squad of players who all contributed in making Magpies the champions.
