GARBOLDISHAM Cricket Club has strengthened its youth cricket organisation with the addition of four new in-house coaches.

Club members Alex Hogg, Jonny Leech, Sarah McGahan and Lydia Raven, who are all just 16 years old, have successfully completed their ECB Level One Cricket Coaching qualification on a course run by the Norfolk Cricket Board.

The foursome join established Garboldisham coaches Ian Melvin and Chris Jones, who themselves are working on their Level Two award.

They will be using their expertise to coach young players at the regular Friday night training sessions during the summer outdoor season.

Garboldisham Cricket Club are particularly delighted that Sarah and Lydia, who are also members of the Norfolk County squads and were the only girls on the course, have shown their continuing enthusiasm for their sport by gaining this qualification, which clearly shows the opportunities that are available to any girl who is interested in taking up cricket.
