George Cole turned in a match-winning table tennis performance as he was unbeaten for the Terriers in their Handicap Cup Final match against Withersdale Bees, which the Terriers won 13-5.

Young gun Cole (+14) managed to outwit the experienced trio of Barney Garrod, Adrian Key and Steve Griffee to set up victory. He was well supported by Tony Park (+8) and father William Cole (+9).

In the Leisure Sport Premier Division Withersdale beat a two-man Shotguns B team 6-4, although no player was able to beat Dave Mortlock who took a maximum. Garrod took Mortlock the distance before losing 11-5, 11-8, 3-11, 2-11, 8-11.

Shotguns B then bounced back to beat Aslacton 9-1, with Stuart Langridge and Roger Crossfield unbeaten. Aslacton also lost by the same margin to Shotguns A for whom Peter Maybury and Paul Mortlock scored maximums.

In the Speedy Bat Sports First Division, Newton Flotman extended their lead and unbeaten run with a 7-3 win over Shotguns G. Mark Beswick and Kieran Brady did the damage for Flotman, but the match also recorded the first all girls' singles game in which Holly Fleming beat Emma Williams 11-3, 11-7, 11-7.

Palgrave Tornadoes beat Thrandeston 7-3 and Palgrave Stars 8-2. Dennis Sore and Alan Worthington won all their games in both matches. However the latter went the distance in three of his games which included narrow wins over David Leeder 7-11, 11-6, 11-6, 8-11, 12-10, Ken Roberts 11-8, 12-10, 7-11, 7-11, 11-9 and Kev Smith 12-14, 11-6, 5-11, 11-7, 11-5.
