DISS Duval tasted derby delight for the second time this season when they beat Diss Vikings 3-2 in the Darby Rosettes Norfolk Petanque League last Thursday.
Honours were even after the triples with Chris Johnson, Roger True and Peter Turner winning for Duval and Peter Beales, Robin Coe and Tony Bigley successful for VIkings.
The opening two doubles brought resounding results for each team; Peter Atkins and Ken Roberts winning 13-4 for the Vikings and Joyce Goodey and Peter Turner romping to a 13-0 victory for Duval.
The decider went to the wire with Jackie and Chris Johnson pipping Peter Beales and Robin Coe 13-11 to cement Duval's hold on third position in Division Three of the league.
It was an enjoyable evening for Le Diss Sportif at Newton St Faiths where a 4-1 victory over Wanderers Wildcats pushed them firmly into the promotion frame in Division Two.
John Barsby, Lindsay and Steven Penny led the way with a 13-6 triumph in the opening triple and Mick Clarke, Jan Barsby and Dave Smith made it 2-0 before the hosts pulled one back in the opening pairs.
Clarke and Jan Barsby confirmed victory before Smith and Lindsay Penny completed a resounding double over the former Division One team.
The aggregate 57-44 win puts the Diss team joint second.
