DISS Angling Club took a team of eight anglers up to Thuxton in Norfolk for the first round of the Angling Times Supercup on Willow Lake, which is part of the Barford Lakes complex.
The team they were up against was Norwich Oddfellows, who regularly fish the lake the match was being held on.
After a practice where the team didn't learn that much about the lake because of very low water temperatures causing the fish to not want to feed, they had to try and learn the water and compete for the win.
Diss fought a hard match picking up four section wins and ended the match all square with 12 points each.
The match then moved on to weight to decide the outcome.
Once the weights were added up Norwich had a big lead with a total of 172lb 10oz to Diss AC weight of 135lb 14oz.
