The first match of 2012 was fished at Eye ponds old side. Mark Ling found a bonus carp of 7lb which really bumped up his weight on a hard day for Diss Angling Club. Ling also caught roach, rudd and perch for his final weight of 9lb. Second on the day went the way of Andrew Mears, who like Ling, caught roach, rudd and perch for his 4lb 4. Third was Billy Crisp, with 2lb 5.
This weekend is the pairs match on Diss Mere, During which, the final of the Knockout Cup is being fished.
