Diss Reserves' game against Lowestoft Reserves match in Ridgeons Reserve League North has been moved forward to Friday night (kick off 7.45pm).

This will allow all members of Lowestoft Town FC to be at Crown Meadow on Saturday to attend the FA Carlsberg Vase second leg match against Whitley Bay.

Diss Reserves hosted Felixstowe and Walton Reserves in their last game and lost 2-0.

Diss put a young team on to the field and defended well, but were unable to create enough clear chances to trouble a more experienced Felixstowe team.

A strong and blustery crossfield wind was proving a problem to both teams. Felixstowe were looking dangerous at corner kicks, but it was Diss who had the more dangerous efforts around the half-hour mark.

In the 31st minute, Steve Jermy won the ball and played it through for Ray Barrett to take on and produce a save from Tom Noon. A minute later, Jake McDowall sent Karl Ansley away and his shot was blocked by Noon using his feet.

A minute before half-time, Mark Camidge was forced to make a save to a low 22-yard shot from Tommy Childs.

Felixstowe took the lead in the 56th minute when the ball was played across from the left for Childs to bring under control and shoot in from the corner of the goal area.

A penalty was awarded in the 66th minute, despite McDowall appearing to get the ball as he tackled Ashley Phillips. Camidge saved a penalty, for the second game running, when he dived to smother a weakly-hit shot from Andy Lewis.

It seemed as though it was not to be the best of days for Lewis, as five minutes later the ball failed to go in, despite hitting the inside of a post.

However, he did score in the 81st minute when he shot in from 12 yards after good play from Childs.

Diss man of the match: There were two top-quality defensive displays from the young team of defenders. Jon Abbott found time to read the game and link further forward from right-back. However, the award goes to Max Rissmann for a fine performance at centre-half alongside Steve Beasley.
