Aldborough beat Diss A at Diss Rectory Meadow by eight wickets in Norfolk Cricket Alliance Division Five.

Batting first, Diss found it hard going against the opening bowling of Warnes and Allan, with Warnes particularly beating the bat regularly with swing and indifferent bounce. Craig Barker (9) was first to fall to Warnes lbw, followed by fellow opener Barney Chenery (12), making his debut for Diss A.

The young man had made a decent start but was beaten by a swinging yorker. Daniel Betts (1) soon followed him back to the clubhouse, with Warnes again catching him playing back in front of his stumps.

Charlie Pask (37), after struggling early on, was starting to get his timing, and along with Robbie West (19) they put together a stand of 50 before Pask was bowled, once again by Warnes, who bowled through to finish with figures of 12-5-34-4.

Three quick wickets fell to leave Diss on 86 for seven, with Gareth Killian (0), Dan Witting (0) and West falling in quick succession.

Andy Tebble (21) joined Craig Ward (4) and stated his intentions with a four off his first ball, and continued to push the score along, while losing Ward and then Steve Dungar (1).

Jack Bell (2) was left not out when Tebble was bowled, with the final total of 114 well short of a decent score.

West and Bell opened the bowling, with West unlucky not to prosper from his opening spell, beating the bat on numerous occasions.

Bell made the breakthrough, having Cannon (8) caught at slip by Barker, bringing the South African Troy Allan to the wicket.

He and Cramp (39) rode their luck early on, before going on to build a match-winning partnership of 88. Cramp fell to Betts, with Dungar taking an excellent catch with only nine needed to win.

Allan finished off the innings with another four to finish 59 not out.
